I have tried to repair my friend's Sony Vaio Pro svp132a1cw that had a terrible fan noise. I purchased a replacement part from ebay and took my time to watch some youtube guides on how to do the simple fan replacement.
Since i got a lot of experience in fixing laptops (more than 200+ maybe in my 10 years) i still respectfully followed the video guide.
One step at a time i removed the back panel and batteries (3 screws) then removed the fan/heatsink assembly. I replaced it with the replacement part from ebay. I tried to put everything back and started to power it up. the POWER LED displays ON and i can see the keyboard backlight and from a few seconds i can hear the new fan turning pretty good without any terrible noise.
BUT, THERE IS NO MORE DISPLAY... I tried to reset using the reset button at the back as one of the solutions provided in the manual but to no avail.
Now my friend's vaio is good as dead. It just powers up but without display.. Any help and experience would be highly appreciated...
Note: I havent touched anything yet aside from the fan/heatsink assembly and the battery.
