I'm having the exact same problem with my SVT15112CXS. In fact, it bulged so much that it literally broke the plastic around one of the screws. Battery issues such as this are more than an inconvenience. They are dangerous. Expecting us to fork out $111 for another faulty part is not an acceptable solution.
Since I will be forced to purchase a new laptop and don't have a few thousand dollars just sitting around waiting to be spent, would you please advise whether or not it is safe to operate the laptop without the battery installed? The documentation contradicts itself regarding this matter.
