Troubles with Sony Vaio SVF14N15CDS (Flip 14). Computer was running slow for a while now (been using windows 10 for about 1 year) actually this computer has always been slow but with windows 10 was better. Decided to do a fresh install of windows 10 which wasn't very satisfactory for my needs. So I decided I would upgrade to a new SSD drive. Installed windows 10 on the new drive and everything ran very well amazing boot time and fast running.... however the machine died after I used it for a couple hours on battery. Plugged it in booted windows as normal and noticed that it said No Battery detected on the battery icon on windows. When running the battery light flashes as if there is an error with the battery. It also doesn't charge even if it is off. So I tried installing all sorts of drivers and vaio care, update.... Installed everything available on the website. To trouble shoot more I reinstalled the old hard drive and did a reinstall of windows 8 (the factory recovery drive). So now even with windows 8 and the original drivers and software (not 8.1) still does not detect the battery. Installed all updates from vaio update and care. Still nothing. Upgraded to windows 8.1, updated all vaio stuff again. Still nothing. Now I'm quite frustrated as I've spend a heck of a lot of hours trying to get it running.
One other thing that doesn't work is the BIOS update to R1140DD currently running R0250DD. Tried installing it from every OS with no luck. It installs then boots up saying Image was not compatible. So just reverts back to R0250DD. I mean the computer ran fine before which I doubt the BIOS has changed from then.
I am fairly Tech Savy and this POS has got me really troubled. I have now ordered a new battery but honestly don't know if that will fix anything. The battery before all this worked fine for at least a couple hours at a time.
