I guess the lenses are polluted. You can read CDs because reading CDs is less sensitive to pollution than reading DVDs or BDs because of a much lower data density on the data layer.
Normally the lenses could be cleaned with cotton sticks (Q-Tips) and glass cleaner (isopropyle alcohol). There are two lenses inside your drive, one for the red laser (CD/DVD) and the other for the blue laser (BD). It has to be done with very low pressure to the spring-mounted lenses and a lot of sensitivity while cleaning and some patience.
Unfortunately you don't have a disc tray but a slot loading drive, which means you can't get access to the lenses easily. To apply the described method you would have to disassemble the drive and open it, which i don't recommend to technically unexperienced users.
Instead of this you could try to clean it with a lens cleaner disc. Choose a cleaner disc, which is able to clean CD/DVD as well as BD drives.
In my experience the optical disc drives (ODD) of smokers tend to pollute fast, if they smoke in front of their computers. Just a few days ago i had to clean the laptop ODD of a smoking friend, wich had nearly the same symptoms like yours. Only after two cleaning sessions (cotton stick/isopropyl alcohol method) all discs were read perfectly again. Some years ago i had to clean the ODD of his older PC that way.
Unfortunately there is no guarantee that cleaning with these methods will be successfully or satisfactorily. But i guess it is worth a try with the cleaner disc.
Good luck!
