I have found that my hinges may not need replacing. I have removed the right hinge and with A LOT of effort I am able to open and close the hinge. However, this opening and closing motion is not possible without using pliers to secure the arms. I find it difficult to believe this hinge was intentionally designed to operate under this amount of pressure when you consider the fact that the laptop body is PLASTIC.
Due to this binding hinge, the right corner of the laptop case has cracked. Repair of my laptop will now require either a new case or some imaginative/innovative use of glue.
