Re: Single key fell off on Sony VAIO Fit 14A Flip PC SVF14N11CXB

Thank you JenF. I reviewed your message, but taking my computer to an authorized repair center such as Best Buy is likely going to be a very costly experience. As this is such a minor issue, I am more inclined to just add a few small dots of glue to the keyboard button cover, although I understand that you cannot recommend this approach as a Sony representative.

Does anyone else have any recommendations? Maybe a particular type of glue or approach, precuations, etc.?

Here are pictures of the problem.

Hi csbell1030,

Welcome to Sony Community!

We're sad to hear about this. I strongly suggest that you back up all your files before it's too late. You may also want to create your own Recovery Disc. By the way, the SVE141D11lL is the chassis number of the laptop. Please verify themodel name.

Below are the steps to troubleshoot the issue

For the Error: Operating system not found or missing operating system.

Note: please make sure to update the BIOS.

Hi mdevanko

Welcome to Sony Community!

Is the AC adapter a U.S. model? Our system is not giving any relevant information with regard to known issue for VGP-AC19V48. We had AC adapter issue before but to a different model.

Kindly inspect the light indicator of the AC adapter. Make sure the adapter is properly fit and plugged in on both ends (to the power outlet and to the laptop). If you'll consider buying a replacement, we suggest contacting Encompass

Re: VAIO Fit slow wifi

Hi Jolucia

I downloaded the drivers beforehand.  I downloaded the 1202 suite as well as the individual bluetooth driver and wifi driver.  I have chrome so it saved them in a download folder.  I installed the wifi card.  Upon powering the laptop up I saw the wifi available.  It was working already.  The wifi card found what it needed.  I didn't delete any old drivers..  I don't know if it makes a difference but my laptop ssd failed already.  I made recovery DVDs but was not able to load them when I replaced my SSD.  I ended up buying a new Windows 8.1 online then upgraded to 10.0.  I am very disappointed with Sony.  All of my personal computers have been Sony.  My first laptop was a Sony back in 1999 with a ******ping 500 meg hard drive.  Bought a sony desktop in 2002.  Bought a new Vaio laptop in 2005 (which is still working).  They definitely went down hill.

Back to the killer wifi card.  So far it has been excellent. No issues encountered.  Hope it works well for you.

Hi marcus_gurley

Welcome to Sony Community!

What is the format, type, and speed of the hard drive you installed? Do you have a copy of recovery disc? Are you trying to install a new OS using a USB drive or CD/DVD?

Kindly access BIOS, and reset it then try to install again. You may also check the information about your hard drive.

[PS: We do not recommend upgrading or installing Windows 10 OS to units that originally came with either Windows 7, Vista or XP.]

Regards,

Dear Miguael,
I kindly request to have the links for my kind Vaio, SVF152C29L

My internet adapters stopped working and even after driver reinstallation issue persist.

I have sony vaio VPCSB36FN model. My ethernet as well as wifi adapters have stopped working at the same time. I did not update or roll back drivers before it stopped working. They were working just fine until i tried restoring media gallery from sony vaio care after an update of the same didnt work. It restored media gallery but i could not open. And at same time adapters stopped working.

I tried reinstalling the drivers for the adapters whose specifications are Intel centrino advanced N-6230 (for wireless ) and realtec PCIe GBE family controller (for ethernet) however, that did not resolve my problem.

I updated the drivers, still same problem. The device manager does not show cross or exclamation mark on these adapters. The trouble shooter for windows cannot solve issue just says "there may be problem with drivers of wireless network adapter " and similarly for LAN adapter. "ipconfig" command in cmd promt does not list any adapters at all.

I have dual boot (Win 7 and Win 10) and the drivers and adapters work fine with windows 10 (Minor size partition) and win 7 as major partition.

Please let me know if there is a solution to this problem. Or whether i must format and reinstall windows again.(which i don't desire).

Hi mp252

Welcome to Sony Community!

It sounds like they are already permanent marks because if not it should've been removed by now with those tries. We can't guarantee the result of iklear on your laptop, it will always your discretion if you want to try.

Hi djrobison22

What is the current operating system of your computer? Have you tried connecting different Bluetooth headphones to isolate the issue? How about transferring files to another device via Bluetooth?

We suggest running Windows Updates and Vaio Update to download and install the latest drivers and software for your unit.

Replacement Screws on Model # SVE1712ACXB

$

Over time, some of the screws from my Sony Vaio  Model # SVE1712ACXB have been lost.

I haev been able to find the retail sites that sell them, but have been unable to identify which specific screws I need to order.

I need two kinds of screws, both are located towards the top of the laptop, beneath the screen:

1) The large screws that screw into the metal hinges.

2) The slightly smaller screws that cloest to the edges of the laptop.

Does anyone have the part # for these screws so I can buy them?

Thanks!

Overheating (100) F series Viao.. updated BIOS already.. shutting down

I have a Viao F series (VPCF115FM) and it was shutting down.  I ran searches and loaded CoreTemp.  The temps are running constantly around 80 - 100 and then shuts itself down (sometimes within mins, sometimes it will stay on for 30 mins, but temps stay high the entire time).

I searched this forum and found the recall.  It does include this laptop and I updated the BIOS according to the direction.  When it loaded, it said the BIOS was up to date.

The temp has not changed.  Any other suggestions?

Hi, Dmitry,

In your case, yes, the BIOS version should be R1170V8, my applogies!

Yes I did Restore Factory Default in the "Security..." section, it works for me. First, I cleaned the cache, after that, I could pair the keyboard with my Tap11. Furthermore, when the keyboard is detached and turned on, it connects to Tap11 automatically at the login screen. Moreover, it works fine with both Windows 8.1 and 10.

Sony just released the new BIOS for SVT11227PXB. Maybe you have to wait for new firmware for the wireless keyboard. Sorry I cound not help you.

Hi abbas98,

Welcome to Sony Community!

We don't recommend upgrading the CPU for this laptop. It was made to run on that specification. They're integrated. The RAM can be upgraded up to 8 GB.

Hi Sarahmth,

Welcome to Sony Community!

You mentioned that the battery care function is switched on, choosing to Turn On the Battery Care Function utility will limit the battery to charging to either 50% or 80% of total capacity. If you want the battery to charge up to the 100% charge level, Turn Off the Battery Care Function utility

Here is the link for more information. Select your current operating system
